About High Ropes
L  OPEN TO ALL LEVELS:

Project Challenge is a series of outdoor adventure experiences designed by St. Francis Prep for individuals who are willing to further explore their own potential.

The Standard Ropes Course is the original Project Challenge experience encompassing a two-segment program: Project Adventure and a High Ropes Course. Project Adventure is a progressive series of physical obstacles designed to promote team building, communication, cooperation and fun. The objective is to come together in a group effort and solve the problem. The High Ropes Course will involve participants in a series of aerial tasks within a challenging, yet safe environment. Both segments are closely supervised and monitored with qualified staff, as is the case with all Project Challenge experiences.

Participants will be transported back and forth from St. Francis Prep to the Greenkill YMCA facilities in Huguenot, NY ( just outside of Port Jervis ), leaving Saturday morning promptly at 7:00 am and returning that evening at approximately 7:00 pm. Lunch will be provided.

As these are physical activities, students must notify us of any limiting conditions. Students who are excused from phys. ed. classes and individuals with any seizure history will be ineligible. The school nurse regarding eligibility will individually screen those with limited phys. ed.. Safety is our primary concern.

If interested in participating return a completed application with a $20.00 non-refundable deposit. The total expense is $55.00 payable in advance unless prior arrangements are made. Space for each trip is limited.

Each participant must attend an orientation program ( 1 ½ - 2 hours ) to be held after school in W212 on the Wed. before the trip. A detailed outline of the day will be presented including safety equipment for the climbing portion, expectations, goal setting and time to surface individual concerns and questions. The pre-trip primer is designed to help maximize the participants overall experience. Failure to attend will render the student ineligible to participate.
