Dear Incoming Freshman Student,
The Foreign Language Department of St. Francis Prep needs some information from you in order to register you for the proper language and level in September. This page is meant to supplement the yellow card you filled out and mailed in. That will place you in a language on a first come, first served basis. Many of you are studying a foreign language in your elementary school. If you desire to be placed at an advanced level, you must fill out and submit this form by Tuesday, 8th March AT THE LATEST. This will register you for the placement exam to be given on Tuesday 20th March.
IF YOU DO NOT FILL OUT THIS FORM AND SUBMIT IT, YOU MAY NOT WRITE THE EXAM.
Only those who answer all questions qualify.
Please know that, regardless of your elementary school grade or Checkpoint A test result, you will be placed in Level I UNLESS you qualify for another level as a result of the grade on this exam.
Follow directions for the exam on the paper that was mailed out to you.
For this form, please note the following:
- If you would like to be placed in Level II for French, German, or Italian, a teacher will contact you by phone and conduct an exam orally. Make sure your phone number is accurate on this form.
- If you wish to be placed in Spanish II, fill out the form accurately and report to St. Francis on Tuesday 20th March.
- If you speak Spanish natively, please fill out the form and report Tuesday 20th March for a special exam. This course is aimed at those who speak Spanish as their first tongue but need grammatical work to ameliorate the language.
