Mr. Frank Trubiano - Reference Librarian, Collection Development, CatalogerHours: Library is opened between 8 AM and 4 PM, Monday thru Thursday. On Fridays the Library will close at 3:30 PM.
The Library contains materials in three areas: circulating materials, the reference collection and audiovisual and software materials.
Circulating Collections – Mrs. Vesna Vulin, Mr. Robert Stenger, and Mr. Frank Trubiano. Book collection is over 54,000 volumes, including the circulating collection, located on the main library floor. Books are catalogued according to the Dewey Decimal System. Biographies, the Fiction collection and Story collection are housed in separate areas. Students may borrow for books research and pleasurable reading. Students may also renew books.
Library staff conducts Freshman Library Orientation classes at the beginning of the school year.
There are 18 computers, 3 printers and 3 copy machines located on the main floor.
Reference Collection - Sister Ann Keppel
The Reference collection is located on the balcony of the library. This collection constitutes myriad reference books and various encyclopedias. Also located on the balcony are 5 computer terminals for student research. A copy machine and a scanner provide duplication of library materials. CD Rom’s are available to assist student research.
Reference materials may be used only in the reference room.
Audio Visual Department - Sister Mary Kenneth Lane
The Audio Visual Department is located on the second floor - East Wing.
Students may borrow videos and other software materials during the day or for a limited time.Electronic Resources
The Media Center purchased the license for two full text databases. The databases are Galenet and Reader’s Guide to Periodical Literature. Each database may be accessed throughout the school and at home.
Reader’s Guide provides full text articles covering 140 journals.
Galenet consists of five databases: the History Resource Center, U.S. History and Modern World History, the Student Resource Center, and the Literature Resource Center, and finally the Biography Resource Center. These are accessible at school and at home.

Periodical Room - Mrs. Nancy DeStefano
The Periodical Room located on the East side of the library houses 7 computer terminals and a printer for Internet Research and Full Text Database searches. Also, there are twenty print journals for research and recreational reading. Any student may request a copy of three daily New York newspapers for informational sources. Students may attain copies of past St. Francis yearbooks.
