Guidance Department: Career Counseling

CAREER EDUCATION PROGRAM

The purpose of the career program is to educate students with respect to careers and to assist them in their decisions concerning career and college choices. Counselors and trained peer counselors staff the Career Center (W-210), a resource room housing our computer-based college and career search programs, career literature and a library of college videos that are available for students to borrow.

Each Counselor will organize students throughout the year to utilize the career center program.

PEER COUNSELING

Junior and senior students are trained to work in the Career Center, assisting with the implementation of the career program. They are trained and supervised by the members of the Guidance Department. They also meet with assigned freshman students during orientation week, and facilitate the adjustment process for incoming freshmen.
